This is a first for me, and I am honored that the ecozy marketing team reached out via my website. I know I typically write about bourbon, rye, and whiskey, but I would consider this pretty on-topic. Before I get started, I wanted to state that this machine was sent to me for free with no strings attached. I am not being paid for this review, and I do not receive any commission if a reader decides to purchase this product.
As always, this review will reflect my genuine opinion of the product, regardless of any external influences. With that said, today’s review comes from the ecozy company, which can be purchased from Amazon here, and is of the ecozy 2″ clear ice ball maker with CrystalFlux technology.
Let’s start out this review with some of the marketing information from the ecozy Amazon website:

- Clean Made Simple: One-touch auto-cleaning keeps every ice ball pure and fresh, while the interior and ice basket can be manually wiped for a deep clean anytime

I know there is a lot of information above, but since I received this $599 machine for free, I felt that at the minimum, I should include the majority of ecozy’s marketing information. So, if you have made it this far in the review, I appreciate it greatly and hope you continue reading.
I have had this ice maker for about two months now, and I wanted to make sure and use it as much as I could before writing this review. During this period, we have run the machine six times, each time for approximately eight hours straight. During each one of these sessions, we were able to make between 50 to 65 ice balls; this disparity in batches came from user error as I often walked away or became distracted and forgot to refill the water.
That comment leads to a cool feature I wanted to highlight before continuing the review. This countertop ice maker has the capability of having a waterline plumbed directly into it. Unfortunately, I was unable to test this feature, but if you have a bar and the ability to do this, it would make this machine even more desirable. Nonetheless, even without this feature, it was quite easy to fill the water reserve from the front door and then drain the machine with ease from a bottom plug in a matter of seconds.
Setup and use were effortless as ecozy made everything a one-touch process. Of course, there was some work for the initial setup, but in all honesty, this only took 15 minutes from opening the box to starting the first batch of ice. Even after using the machine several times and going through the cleaning process, ecozy has made this easy. Pour hot water into the reserve and press the self-cleaning button, then wait. If you place it on a counter like I did and it is not connected to a drain, then you do have to manually drain after self-cleaning and wipe clean, which only takes a few minutes.
Using the ice maker is even easier. Just open the front, pour water, and wait; it is that easy. I find the machine not to be too loud, some might disagree, but we were able to watch TV and hold a normal conversation while batches of ice were being made. It takes about 30 minutes per batch, and each batch drops four two-inch balls. Please note that this is not a freezer, but an icemaker, so you need to either move the balls to your freezer after the bin is full or after each batch.
Overall, this is an amazing machine and I really have nothing bad to say about it. So much so that it turned out that Mrs. Bourbon Bossman had this exact model saved in an Amazon list to purchase for our 18th anniversary. However, if I were forced to be extremely critical about this ice maker, there are two things I could say about the ecozy 2″ clear ice ball maker that I wish were oh-so-slightly different.
First, I personally would love an ecozy 2.5” or 3” model as I think that size ice ball would fit just a little better in a rocks glass. I would be willing to give up storage capacity in the bin or even the direct waterline feature, just to have slightly larger ice balls. Secondly, I will say this machine does carry a hefty price tag. But even at $599, if this machine lasts someone two years or more, the return on investment and time saved from hassling with silicon trays is well worth it!
Again, I am not being paid for this review, and I do not receive any commission if you decide to purchase this product. So if this ice maker interests you, please feel free to check out the ecozy 2″ clear ice ball maker with CrystalFlux technology from Amazon here. A big thank you to the ecozy marketing team again, especially Tracy, for reaching out, and if you ever decide to make that larger ecozy 2.5 or 3” clear ice ball maker, please feel free to reach out!
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
