One of the most common questions I have received since starting to review wine is “how do you pick a bottle to review with so many out?” Well, that is really quite easy; I ask Mrs. Bourbon Bossman to select a bottle based on her favorite label in the store. Now sometimes I will ask a store associate for a recommendation, or I have read about a pairing with a cigar, but more often than not, it’s just because of an eye-catching label. Today’s review is absolutely one of those bottles from Browne Family Vineyard and is their bottle of Do Epic Shit Red Blend.

This brand can be easily found throughout NoCo in different varieties, and while conducting background research on this bottle, I discovered they even make bourbon! Overall, this was a slightly above-average pour of wine that you would definitely purchase for the label and the reaction it will bring as you pour a glass for friends. However, if you are looking for a balanced fruit-forward red blend with notes of strawberry, blackberry, and pepper throughout, this bottle would be your jam. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Strawberry, Blackberry, Currants, and Pepper
- Palate: Fruit Forward with Blackberry/Strawberry, Black Pepper, Earthiness, and Toasted Oak
- My Rating: Mix It!/Drink It! (3.5/5)
Thank you for taking the time to read this review, and always remember to keep an open mind. You never know, you might actually enjoy that glass of wine, even though it is not bourbon!
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
