For those who had a chance to read Bourbon Bossman’s® Top 5 of 2025, you would know that today’s bottle made the 2025 FOMO List. Most years, I have been lucky enough to find a bottle of this; however, I had given up that I would find this Michter’s in 2025. Then one lucky day in early January of 2026, I just happened to stop at one of our local stores, and there it was behind the glass, and at MSRP, I was giddy as a school boy! Today’s review comes from the Michter’s Distillery and is their 2025 release of Michter’s 10-Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2025).

Bottle Information

From the Michter’s website: Mature in age and truly exceptional in quality, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon has earned its place as an enduring favorite of the most discerning whiskey connoisseurs. The “Best American Whiskey” according to Food & Wine magazine, our 10 Year Single Barrel Bourbon represents the culmination of over a decade of patient aging in specially chosen, new charred American white oak barrels. When a private barrel selection bottling of this whiskey sold for £166,000 (US$ 209,462) at an auction in London on July 12th 2020, it shattered the previous $78,000 record for a barrel of bourbon that had been set at a Christie’s auction.

As I mentioned above, most years I have seen at least a few of these bottles scattered across the NoCo area. This year, that was not the case, and the bottle I was lucky enough to find was the only bottle I have seen to date. However, if you are a fan of the Michter’s 10 Year Rye, this bottle can easily still be found in several stores in FoCo.

Overall, if I had had this bottle in 2025, there is a damn good chance it would have been in my Top 5 List again. Yet another amazing release from Michter’s with brown sugar, vanilla, and a wonderful raspberry note throughout. My only complaint is that this bottle keeps creeping up in price year over year, and I am at my limit; I would really like to see this come down $30-$40 in reality. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Brown Sugar, Vanilla, Baking Spice, Raspberry, and Oak
  • Palate: Brown Sugar, Baking Spice, Vanilla Cream, Raspberry/Cherry, Toffee, and Oak
  • Finish: Medium to Long with Notes of Vanilla Cream, Baking Spice, and Sweet Oak Tannins
  • My Rating: Save It! (If I had had this bottle for my Top 5 of 2025, there is a good chance it would have been a contender!)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
