These Manic Monday Reviews will be short and sweet. There will be basic background information, a bottle review, and will be posted irregularly; unlike the weekly Friday reviews. These reviews will focus on older or past releases, single barrel releases, bottles that were lost or forgotten on my shelf, or whenever I just want to focus on the bourbon, not the write-up. With that said, today’s review is of the 2024 Yellowstone Limited Edition.

Bottle Information

From the Yellowstone website: Yellowstone Limited Edition represents an annual exploration of top-shelf blends and finishes, making each release unique and highly sought after. The 2024 expression features 7-year and 17-year aged bourbons and introduces our first double finish in French brandy and cognac casks, enhancing the natural flavors of the extra-aged bourbon. Available in limited quantities for true enthusiast.

  • Distiller: Distilled in Kentucky. Bottled by Limestone Branch Distillery
  • Mash Bill: Undisclosed
  • Proof: 101
  • Age: 7 and 17 Year-Old Blend
  • Year: 2024
  • MSRP: $99
  • 2025 National Average: $155
  • Official Website

With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Apple Juice, Stone Fruit, Caramel, Cinnamon, and Vanilla
  • Palate: Sweet Oak, Brown Sugar, Leather, Stone Fruit, Cinnamon, and Vanilla
  • Finish: Medium with Sweet but Drying, Maybe Sour, Oak and Cinnamon
  • My Rating: Mix It/Drink It! (I find this year’s release to be a bit overpowered by dry and possible sour oak…)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
