I know I have called myself a “proof hound” in the past, and I will admit that I do really enjoy a high-proof bourbon. But in all honesty, after a long day of work, I do prefer a mild 100-proof bourbon over ice, and I think I just found that bourbon. In today’s market, it is becoming increasingly harder to find a well-priced bottled-in-bond bourbon that is also a damn fine drink. Today’s review is from the Bulleit Distilling Company and is their new Bulleit Bottled in Bond Bourbon.
Bottle Information
From the Bulleit Bourbon Press Release: Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond embodies the brand’s signature high-rye mash bill delivering a bold, distinctive flavor. Distilled in Spring 2017, aged in federally bonded warehouses, and bottled at 100 proof, it adheres to the exacting requirements of the Bottled-in-Bond Act, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency.
This expression has already earned a 91-point rating at the 2024 International Wine & Spirits Competition, underscoring its excellence. Perfect for savoring neat, on the rocks, or as the foundation for bold cocktails, Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond offers a rich, layered experience: aromas of spice and toasted oak, a palate of maple sweetness and nutmeg warmth, and a smooth, lingering butterscotch finish.

This new release from the Bulleit Distilling Company hit the shelves in NoCo only days after being announced and has stayed quite easy to find. Overall, I am digging the fact that several distilleries are releasing new bottles at a great price point. To make it even better, this new release is a damn fine bourbon with an amazing nose! With solid classic notes of brown sugar, vanilla, cherry, and oak, I could not ask for more as a solid weekly pour. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Brown Sugar, Vanilla Bean, Oak, Cinnamon, and Red Fruit (Apple or Cherry)… Amazing Nose
- Palate: Brown Sugar, Oak Tannins, Cinnamon, Vanilla, and Cherry
- Finish: Medium with Sweet Oak Tannins and Cinnamon
- My Rating: Drink It! (This is a damn fine Bourbon at an incredible price!)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
