After doing a bit of research on this bottle, as it is nowhere to be found on Tincup’s website, I was able to figure out that this bottle seems to be a Colorado exclusive release. That being said, I will keep this review a bit short as the greater population of enthusiasts will have a hard time finding this bottle. Today’s review comes from Tincup Whiskey and is Tincup 10-Year-Old Straight Rye Whiskey.

With a bold spice finish, this 100 proof Rye holds up in your favorite Rye cocktail or can be enjoyed on its own with a large ice cube.

TINCUP® Whiskey is named after the town of Tincup, CO where Rye whiskey was the celebrated spirit of the historical rocky mountain miners.

Found throughout Colorado, most of the local NoCo stores I visit now have this bottle on their shelf. Overall, this bottle offers more bourbon than rye notes with your typical vanilla and brown sugar leading to some rye spice. Although a bit simplistic for a rye whiskey, this is a solid 10-year I will use for sipping on over ice after a long day of work. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

• Nose: Brown Sugar, Spearmint or Peppermint, Vanilla Bean, and Rye Spice
• Palate: Brown Sugar, Rye Spice, and Slight Vanilla
• Finish: Short to Medium with Minimal Notes of Vanilla and Rye Spice
• My Rating: Mix It!/Drink It! (A solid 10-Year rye whiskey for sipping on over ice after a long day of work.)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
