Happy post-Turkey Day! I hope everyone had a relaxing day yesterday, and if not, hopefully you at least enjoyed a nice pour of your favorite bourbon. Well, today is a bittersweet day, as I review one of my favorite annual releases, however, it might be the last time. Rumor has it that Wild Turkey has decided to cease this lineup and this will be their final bottle of the product line. If that is true, it is a sad day, but all good things must eventually come to an end. Today’s review comes from the Wild Turkey Distillery and is their Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Beacon.

Like many of the limited edition products released by Wild Turkey, this bottle was hard to find and this was only one of two bottles that we saw on the shelves in the NoCo area. Although, in past years we would not even have seen this Master’s Keep release hit the shelves, I still believe there is more room for improvement. As the bourbon hype starts to slow, those who are still interested and want to purchase these limited releases need to be given the ability to and at reasonable prices.
Overall, this is another extraordinary release from the Wild Turkey Distillery that did not let us down. With amazingly balanced notes of cherry, vanilla, oak, and spice throughout the entire experience, this is definitely how you make a statement and an end to an amazing product line. I hope that this is not the last bottle of Wild Turkey Master’s Keep that we see, but if it is, I am sure glad I was able to purchase a bottle, and I think I might even need to try and find a second bottle. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Sweet Fruit (Cherry), Vanilla, Seasoned Oak, Baking Spice, Orange Cream, and Brown Sugar
- Palate: Vanilla Cream, Brown Sugar, Baking Spice, Cherry, Red Apple, Honey, and Seasoned Oak
- Finish: Long Colorado Winter’s Hug with Notes of Sweet Fruit, Seasoned Oak, and Baking Spice
- My Rating: Save It! (Oh my… damn. This is a fantastic pour, enough said!)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
