These Manic Monday Reviews will be short and sweet. There will be basic background information, a bottle review, and will be posted irregularly; unlike the weekly Friday reviews. These reviews will focus on older or past releases, single barrel releases, bottles that were lost or forgotten on my shelf, or whenever I just want to focus on the bourbon, not the write-up. With that said, today’s review is of Old Elk 2023 Infinity Blend.
Bottle Information
From the Old Elk website: This year’s annual release of the Infinity Blend exemplifies what makes infinity bottles so unique. Like enthusiasts who blend fractions of their favorites in an unmarked decanter over time, Greg has created this blend to showcase his legacy and supreme artisanship – akin to an autobiography of a long and distinguished career. The 2023 Infinity Blend becomes an occasion to remember each of the good times shared while looking forward to new opportunities forged over a glass of whiskey.

With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Browned Butter, Caramel, Vanilla, Dough, Nuttiness, Citrus, Spice, and Oak
- Palate: Wheat Dust, Pepper, Vanilla, Pecan or Walnut, Oak, and Slight a Citrus
- Finish: Medium to Long with Fading Notes of Dusty Wheat, Vanilla, and Pepper
- My Rating: Mix It! (I absolutely loved the 2022 release… unfortunately this 2023 release felt a bit lackluster and missing.)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
