How did I come to this point in my life where I have chosen to blog about my adventures in hunting, tasting, and reviewing bourbon? Well here is my story…

I am nearing the age of 40, I work nearly 60 hours a week and I keep being told by all those around me that I need a better work-life balance. I’ve tried many different hobbies over the past 10 years, from coin collecting to breeding reptiles, but none were really for me. However, like many over the past two years, I was introduced the wonderful world of bourbon and whiskey.

Now I have never been one to drink at home and would occasionally enjoy an adult beverage while out for a date night. Well, those days are definitely in the past now and you would never know this now if you took a look at my current bourbon collection… oh my what have I gotten myself into now. I am not sure why or how, but this mysterious brown liquid gold has taken a hold of my curiosities in life. So much so, whenever I have free time, I now find myself reading articles on Bourbon or watching reviews on YouTube.

So here I am with a whole cabinet of bourbon and whiskey with nothing better to do than taste them all! As I have stated in my bio, before my current career, I enjoyed writing, publishing, and reviewing articles, papers, and books on Colorado history. So here I am bringing the passion I have for writing and bourbon together to tell my adventures of finding, tasting, and reviewing bourbon.

By no means am I an expert when it comes to tasting or reviewing bourbon, but here I am going for it. I will be very honest when it comes to reviewing bourbon and follow a very simple rating scale; Save It, Drink it, Mix it, Donate it, Pour it, or Shelve it. So if you are curious about bourbon like I am, and enjoy reading reviews, please feel free to subscribe or follow the adventures.

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
