This review is the start of a birthday week in which I decided to review some amazing Michter’s bottles we found right after the holidays. Like most Manic (Michter’s) Monday Reviews, this will be short and sweet with basic background information and a bottle review. With that said, today’s review is of Michter’s 10-Year Kentucky Straight Rye 2024 Release.
Bottle Information
From the Michter’s website: One of our most limited production items, Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye continues the legacy of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company (Michter’s, originally known as Shenk’s). After a nearly three year absence from the market, Michter’s then Master Distiller Willie Pratt finally gave the green light for the re-release of Michter’s 10 Year Straight Rye in April 2014.
- Distiller: Bottled by Michter’s Distillery
- Mash Bill: Undisclosed
- Proof: 92.8
- Age: 10 Years
- Year: 2024
- MSRP: $199
- 2024 National Average: $275
- Official Website
With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Floral, Fruity, Honey, Rye Spice, Vanilla, Oak, and Bubble Gum from A Old Fashioned Candy Dispenser
- Palate: Vanilla Cream, Oak, Rye Spice, Citrus, Red Fruit, Caramel, and Slight Orange Peel
- Finish: Short to Medium Sweet Vanilla and Rye Spice
- My Rating: Save It! (This is even be better than the 2023 Bottle I reviewed last year for my birthday…)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
