Honestly, I love this time of the year as there are so many new and limited edition bottles of bourbon and whiskey being released. Unfortunately, I also feel like I never have enough time to write reviews as I am typically quite busy at work, traveling, and either get a cold or have the flu. This year is no different, work and travel have taken over, and a cold put me out from reviewing for two weeks. Nonetheless, I love to write reviews so others can hopefully read them before buying these bottles, and I hope to release a few extra reviews over the next two months as there are so many excellent bottles available right now. Today’s review comes from the Louisville Distilling Company and is the newest edition, Angel’s Envy Triple Oak.
Bottle Information
From the Angel’s Envy website: ANGEL’S ENVY TRIPLE OAK — Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in a blend of Hungarian, Chinkapin, and French Oak Barrels. Everything we do is grounded in whiskey tradition – up to a certain point. This bourbon starts as a KY Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Then we finish it in oak casks sourced from around the world. We blend these toasted HUNGARIAN, CHINKAPIN AND FRENCH OAK BARRELS together to achieve a distinctive profile that pushes the boundaries.

Like with most new releases in the NoCo area, this new bottle from Angel’s Envy was very scarce in all my local stores when first released. I was lucky enough to have one of the first bottles in the area held for me, but I have been lacking in adding new bottle reviews lately due to being a bit busy… work, travel, sickness, you know, life in general. However, this bottle is now plentiful on most shelves I walk into throughout Colorado. Overall, this beautiful bottle is right up my alley with the rich amount of oak and sweetness it has to offer. Although some might find this too oaky, please do not hesitate at least to try a pour of this at your local bar, as this is an amazingly balanced bourbon that I will continue to return to. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Oak, Applewood, Cherry, Brown Sugar, Milk Chocolate, Honey, and Vanilla
- Palate: Sweet Fruits (Cherry), Honey, Floral, Allspice, Vanilla, and a Delayed Oak
- Finish: Long with Notes of Drying Oak, Pepper Spice, and Floral Vanilla
- My Rating: Drink It! (Although some might find this too oaky, please do not hesitate to at least try it… this is an amazingly balanced bourbon whiskey)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
