The bottle being reviewed today is an annual release that I look forward to every year. With a beautifully designed bottle and box that contains a well above-average product, why would you not hunt for this bottle? I mean in all reality, who doesn’t like a good box? All kidding aside, today’s review comes from Lux Row Distillers and is their annual limited release of Blood Oath Pact No. 10.
Bottle Information
From the Blood Oath website: Two well-bred ryed bourbons and one finished bourbon each complementing the others in this, our 10th edition pact. In honor of this double-digit milestone, we’ve achieved a double finish. The first finish was perfected in Cabernet Franc barrels, with the second refined in Merlot casks.
- Distiller: Bottled for Lux Row Distillers

Unfortunately, it seems this annual release is becoming increasingly harder to find in NoCo; unless you are willing to pay double the MSRP. Fortunately, we found this bottle only slightly marked up in the Loveland area, and with a love for past releases, it was a no-brainer to purchase the 2024 release.
Overall, this might not be everyone’s pour of whiskey. This is quite a unique mix of blended bourbons, with high rye characteristics, finished in two different wine expressions that I am a fan of! With amazing notes of red fruits mixed with sweet vanilla spices, this is not a bottle to wait on; but do not overpay for it. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Oak, Smokiness, Red Fruits, Vanilla, Caramel, Rye Spice, and Subtle Wine
- Palate: Red Fruit, Stonefruit, Caramel, Vanilla, Rye Spice, and Oak
- Finish: Medium with Notes Leading to Dry Oak and Sweet Red Fruits
- My Rating: Drink It! (This might not be everyone’s dram of whiskey.)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
