I will be the first to admit that I unfortunately have little love for Colorado Whiskey right now, and if you are looking for that, please make sure to follow Colorado Whiskey Guy on Instagram. However, for the first time I have found a distillery in Colorado that I truly enjoy and will make sure others know about. With that said, today’s blog post will be a short introduction into a newer distillery in Northern Colorado, Lasso Whiskey Distillery.

Here is a little information from the Lasso Distillery website: From Colorado’s Heart to Your Glass: Lasso Whiskies, Crafted for Connoisseurs. Explore the excellence of our handcrafted single-barrel whiskeys, offering outstanding quality, character, and taste with every sip. Our collection features Single-barrel Rye Whiskey and Single-barrel Wheat Whiskey. We not only provide the best whiskeys but also look forward to igniting a sense of kinship among consumers, encouraging them to embrace the pleasure of sharing their experiences, stories, and unforgettable moments with it. 

Lasso Distillery can be found in Windsor, Colorado, however they do not have a store front open to the public. Currently, in early 2024, Lasso Whiskey offers three core bottles, a 6 year wheat whiskey, a rye cask-strength whiskey, and a 8 year low rye whiskey. It has been mentioned that other products are in the works, but for now, these are their offerings. Below is a list of these products:

• Lasso Small Batch Colorado Wheat Whiskey
• Lasso Roper Reserve Whiskey
• Lasso Small Batch Rye Whiskey

According to the lore of Lasso Distillery, they started distilling whiskey over 10 years ago and the idea to release their product for others to enjoy began around 2021. Officially, Lasso Distillery started releasing products in the Northern Colorado area in mid-February of 2024. Since then, and only two months later, their products have quickly spread in popularity to almost every store I have visited in NoCo and I now have seen their bottles in most whiskey bars as well.

Please let it be noted that as I have always said, I want to make sure I am upfront and honest with my reviews; especially when they are samples provided by a distillery. I am honored to review these next three bottles offered with no strings attached from the Lasso Distillery, and as always I will be honest with my reviews no matter if the bottles were gifted or if I purchased them.
