I have mentioned in the past that I often watch WhiskeyTubers and occasionally come across a product or bottle that I am very intrigued about; Today’s bottle is just that. A huge shout out to Curiosity Public YouTube Channel and their Ultimate Spirits Competition Video on this bottle! Today’s bottle comes from the Glenmorangie Distillery in Highland, Scotland, UK, and is of their Glenmorangie Signet.

From the… website: As Dr Bill, our freethinking Director of Whisky Creation, enjoyed a cup of his favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, the notion of Signet first came to him. At once his mind filled with spiralling mocha flavours that he could not forget. It would take him years to bring our unprecedented whisky to life. But in its tiramisu tones and melting chocolate, you can taste his most delicious imaginings

Over the years, we temper its power with rare and treasured casks. Bourbon for creaminess. Sherry for sweetness. The spice of virgin charred oak. All balanced by some of the oldest whisky we own...

After watching the video above, it took nearly six months to find a bottle in NoCo. Tucked back in a small glass case next to our grocery store I found the previous year’s bottle, a bit overpriced, but well worth the cost. Since finding this bottle, I have only seen one additional that did not last long in the store, so please note if this is a bottle you would like to try and it is priced correctly, do not pass on it. Overall, this is the best dessert scotch, whiskey, or bourbon I have ever had! With delightful notes of dark fruit mixed with vanilla, mocha, and sugar, this is a Mocha Malt Chocolate Covered Fruit Candy in a glass. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Tropical Fruit, Fuji Apple, Roasted Malt Chocolate, Cocoa Bean, Vanilla, Oak, All Spice, and Juicy Fruit Candy
  • Palate: Fuji Apple, Cocoa, Roasted Malt, Vanilla, Leather, Tropical Mike & Ike Candy, and Oak
  • Finish: Medium to Long with Notes of Powdered Sugar, Fruit, Mocha, and Roasted Malt
  • 2023 MSRP: $199
  • 2023 National Average: $279
  • Proof: 92
  • My Rating: Save It (Best dessert scotch I have had to date… Mocha Malt Chocolate Covered Fruit Candy!)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
