As I have mentioned in the past, often we enthusiasts fall in love with brands and sometimes we become ultimate fans. Over the past years, I have done just this with the Discovery and Collaboration Series from Bardstown Bourbon Company. While we visited Kentucky in 2022, I was blessed with a rick house tour of Bardstown Bourbon Company where I was able to try their new distillate getting ready to be released in 2023. I can say without a doubt, that trying those three whiskeys from the barrel made me even more excited to be a fan of this distillery. Over the next three weeks, I will be reviewing the three new bottles from the Bardstown Bourbon Company. Today’s review is of Bardstown Bourbon Company Origins Series Bourbon.

From the Bardstown Bourbon Company website: An exquisite high-rye bourbon with extraordinary flavor. Our Origin bourbon whiskey is a 36% high-rye mash bill which showcases the best of classic bourbon with a burst of rye spice. Perfect at a unique pour or the foundation for a premium craft cocktail.

When first released, these bottles were quite hard to find in NoCo and for me, in most of Colorado. Now, I often see these bottles in most stores I visit. Overall, this is probably my second favorite bottle of the three new releases. It provides your very typical flavor profile of bourbon and offers a great lower-proof pour. I would be curious to enjoy this bourbon if offered at cask strength, as I believe it might then become my favorite whiskey of all time if these initial flavors continued to shine through. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

• Finish: Medium to Long with Prominent Lasting Notes of Sweet Oak and Rye Spice
