Over the past few years, I have really fallen in love with James B Beam Distilling Co and the new releases they have been releasing. In particular, their Knob Creek line has continued to expand upon the age-stated lineup, which is amazing, more rye products hitting the market, and now we have this new lineup as well! Today’s review comes from James B Beam Distilling Co and is the new release of Knob Creek Blender’s Edition No. 01 Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Bottle Information

From the Knob Creek website: Blender’s Edition 01 marks the first release in a new limited series dedicated to the craft behind every bottle of Knob Creek. Created by our Master Distiller and expert Blenders, this special release is hand-selected and meticulously blended to showcase their unique vision of bold, full-flavored bourbon.

Designed to unlock the sweeter side of the Knob Creek profile, Blender’s Edition 01 reveals rich layers of vanilla and indulgent confectionary notes, balanced by the signature depth and character you expect. It’s a rare opportunity to experience Knob Creek exactly as our Blenders intended – precise, expressive, and unapologetically bold.

At first, this new release from Jim Beam was a bit hard to find in the NoCo area. However, over the past few months, it has been popping up on shelves everywhere, and I would definitely recommend grabbing one before they are gone. Overall, I was super impressed with this sweet release and the balanced notes of vanilla, powdered sugar, sweet oak, and baking spice throughout. Now, if you are more of a traditionalist when it comes to bourbon, this may be way too sweet for you, which I typically am, but I still really enjoyed this pour, especially over ice. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Vanilla, Baking Spice, Sweet Oak, and Powdered Sugar
  • Palate: Super Sweet! Notes of Vanilla Cream, Powdered Sugar, Red Jujyfruit Candy, Baking Spice, and Sweet Oak
  • Finish: Medium with Notes of Baking Spice, Sweet Oak, and Vanilla Cream
  • My Rating: Drink It! (Super impressed with this sweet release, especially at $45!)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
