When I first started this venture four years ago, one of the first limited-edition bottles I purchased was the 2022 version. I will never forget walking into the store and seeing that beautiful, solid-wood box on the shelf and that feeling of a successful bourbon hunt! Fast forward to today and I have purchased every release since 2022, but unfortunately, the cost has risen and that beautiful packaging has all but disappeared. Today’s review comes from the Louisville Distilling Company and is the 2025 limited release of Angel’s Envy Cask Strength Bourbon.
Bottle Information
From the Angel’s Envy website: This 2025 Cask Strength release bends tradition while honoring our craft. Aged for a cumulative 10 years in new American white oak and port wine barrels, it reflects the mastery of patience and precision. Each stage of maturation, from the bold character of new charred oak to the layered richness of port finishing, builds complexity and shapes our signature port influence into its most expressive form yet.
Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength is the 14th Edition and one of the crown jewels of our Cask Strength Archives. This series isn’t about reinventing the wheel; it’s about celebrating the best of what we do, turned up to full volume. Selected from our most exceptional barrels and bottled without proofing down, Angel’s Envy 10 Cask Strength carries a decade of patience and stands as a defining chapter for collectors building their own legacy.

Unlike previous years, the 2025 cask strength release can still be easily found on shelves in NoCo and at the suggested retail price. Overall, and like previous years, this is another excellent release that is well-rounded and full of dark fruits, cinnamon, vanilla, and just the right amount of oak. However, as the price continues to creep up on this release every year, I find myself asking Is this bottle still worth purchasing?
As those who have read my review before know, my favorite bottle is Eagle Rare 10, which is becoming relatively available again for around $50… I mean do I need to say anything else if you are looking for an age statement? Now if it is the proof you are looking for, there are also plenty of other cask strength 10-year-old bourbons on the market for a fraction of this cost. Either way, this is still an excellent product, but as the bourbon market slows and our economy tightens, it might be time to really take a look at the cost of the releases. With that said, let’s get our taste on!
- Nose: Dark Red Fruit, Vanilla Maple Donut, Cinnamon, Caramel, and Honey
- Palate: Vanilla, Red Fruit (Apple/Strawberry/Plum), Cinnamon, Honey, and Oak
- Finish: Medium to Long with Notes of Red Fruits, Cinnamon Red Hots, and Oak
- My Rating: Drink It! (An excellent 10-Year Bourbon with a well-rounded profile, yet, there are better pours for the fraction of the cost…)
Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!
Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
