Happy post-Christmas, Happy Boxing Day, and Friday to everyone else! So I am not repeating the same thing two weeks in a row, please see last week’s review to understand my feelings towards today’s distillery; spoiler alert, they are my favorite. Today’s review comes from the Bardstown Bourbon Company and features the newest collaboration bottle, Bardstown Bourbon Company Maison Ferrand Finish II.

Bottle Information

From the Bardstown Bourbon Company website: Bardstown Bourbon Co. continues to push boundaries of flavor through global collaboration. This second partnership with Ferrand sees Kentucky straight whiskey finished 15 months in Maison Ferrand Cognac barrels, merging American character with French refinement. The result is a layered, limited-edition release that reflects the craftsmanship and creativity at the heart of both houses.

As I mentioned last week, I was nervous that the release and next week’s bottle would not make it to the NoCo area. So I did purchase this bottle online from Seelbach’s and unfortunately overpaid by about $20 with shipping included. Unfortunately, I let my FOMO take over with this purchase as this bottle is now popping up in the NoCo area and priced at MSRP. Overall, Bardstown Bourbon Company is killing it right now with another well-balanced release of sweetness and spice expressing notes of multiple fruits and baking spice. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Brown Sugar, Strawberry, Raisin, and Baking Spice
  • Palate: Apricot, Raisin, Strawberry, Baking Spice, and Sweet Oak
  • Finish: Medium to Long with Sweet Notes of Apricot and Baking Spice
  • My Rating: Drink It!/Save It! (My opinion… BBC is killing it right now! Another amazing release that is near perfectly well-balanced with sweetness and spice)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
