Even after enjoying this hobby for nearly four years now, there are still several bottles that I have FOMO about every year. The bottle being reviewed today is one of those bottles and I was ecstatic to find this and purchase it at MSRP. Now I know many people will think I am crazy for the cost I paid, but sometimes you just have to spoil yourself. Today’s review comes from the Heaven Hill Distillery and is their spring release of the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 19-Year-Old.

Bottle Information

From the Heaven Hill website: We’re proud to introduce a new collection of extra-aged, ultra-premium American Whiskeys to our portfolio. The Heaven Hill Heritage Collection exemplifies the true craftsmanship, patience and consistency that are hallmarks of our almost 90 years of whiskey-making traditions. With new editions released every spring, this collection features Straight American Whiskeys from one of our six traditional mashbills. Ages vary by release but all editions feature our oldest stocks of barrels.

The Heaven Hill Heritage Collection 2025 release is a 19-year-old Kentucky Straight Wheat Whiskey that is non-chill filtered and bottled at 100 proof. The liquid consists of 277 barrels from the fifth and sixth floor of rickhouse Y. All barrels were produced in August and September 2005. The mashbill uses 51% Wheat, 37% Corn, and 12% Malted Barley.

This is the first year we have seen a Heaven Hill Heritage Collection bottle in NoCo. Now I am aware that this year’s batch is nearly double the size of previous batches, but I still feel quite lucky to have found it at MSRP. There are still two bottles in my area available, however, one is at MSRP and the other will continue to sit in the museum case for the next year.

Overall, this bottle is a beast! Every time I go back to this bottle, it seems to open up even more with time. With notes of cinnamon-baked apples and just the right amount of oak, that is enough said. If you come across a bottle or a pour of this at the bar, I would say it is definitely a must-try! With that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Caramel, Vanilla Bean, Baking Spice, Oak, and Stewed Fruit
  • Palate: Baked Cinnamon Apples, Vanilla Bean, Leather, Baking Spice, and Light Oak
  • Finish: Medium to Slightly Long on the Palate with Lasting Notes of Sweet Oak and Baking Spice
  • My Rating: Save It! (I have always wanted one of these bottles, and I am not disappointed!)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
