These Manic Monday Reviews will be short and sweet. There will be basic background information, a bottle review, and will be posted irregularly; unlike the weekly Friday reviews. These reviews will focus on older or past releases, single barrel releases, bottles that were lost or forgotten on my shelf, or whenever I just want to focus on the bourbon, not the write-up. With that said, today’s review is of Bardstown Bourbon Company (BBC) Discovery Series #10.

  • Distiller: Bottled by Bardstown Bourbon Co.
  • Mash Bill: 62% (9 Year Kentucky Bourbon: 78% Corn, 13% Rye, 9% Malted Barley)/18% (13 Year Kentucky Bourbon: 75% Corn, 13% Rye, 12% Malted Barley)/10% (10 Year Georgia Bourbon: 80% Corn, 10% Rye, 5% Wheat, 5% Malted Barley)/8% (6 Year Kentucky Bourbon: 53% Corn, 26% Rye, 21% Malted Barley)/2% (10 Year Tennessee Bourbon: 84% Corn, 8% Rye, 8% Malted Barley)
  • Proof: 114.24
  • Age: 6, 9, 10, 13 Years Old
  • Year: 2023
  • MSRP: $139
  • 2024 National Average: $170
  • Official Website

So with that said, let’s get our taste on!

  • Nose: Caramel, Vanilla, Red Dark Fruits, Powdered Sugar Donuts, and Rye Spice
  • Palate: Vanilla, Caramel, Red Fruit, Rye Spice, and Oak
  • Finish: Medium to Long with Notes of Rye Spice, Dry Oak, and Lingering Heat on the Back of the Palate
  • My Rating: Drink It! (Yet another great showing of what BBC can do with blend whiskey. Please keep it up!)

Please remember, drinking bourbon is a personal adventure, so do not be afraid to drink it neat, with ice, or add some water. It’s your bourbon, you bought it, and you should enjoy it how you want to enjoy it!

Cheers! Prost! Sláinte!
