Every once in a while your inner child comes out as an adult, even when you know better. I will be very honest, I saw this bottle and totally thought it was a gimmick or even a marketing scheme, but still, my inner child screamed “YES!” and here we are today, reviewing it; but in this case, I am quite happy my impulse buying won over. Today’s review comes from the WhistlePig Distillery and is the WhistlePig SummerStock Whiskey Pit Viper Limited Edition.

A blend of Wheat and Rye Whiskeys finished in a toasted barrel solara, this laid-back, summer sipper is made to enjoy after sunny adventures all season long. Pair with Pit Vipers to sip with style and performance. A portion of proceeds from the WhistlePig SummerStock Whiskey and Pit Viper SummerStock Sunglass duo will be donated to Everybody Solar.

When I purchased this bottle seven or so weeks ago, it was not very available in the area. Since then, most locations in NoCo now offer this bottle, but unfortunately, it is only the bottle, not the package with the Pit Viper Glasses. Overall, my hopes were not high for this bottle, but I fell in love with this amazing sipper perfect for a hot summer day! This has become my go-to whiskey on a Friday evening after a long week of work. This refreshing sipper holds up great on ice in the heat and is very vibrant and sweet like drinking a vanilla-flavored Cinnamon Motts Apple Juice. With that said, let’s get our taste on!

• Nose: Motts Apple Juice, Caramel, Vanilla, Honey, Graham Cracker, and Cinnamon
• Palate: Vanilla Buttercream, Werther’s Caramel Hard Candies, Oak, and Cinnamon
• Finish: Quite Short with lingering Oak and Vanilla
